It was anounnced today that City Center part of MGM Mirage Corporation will add 12,000 jobs to the local economy. Starting on Janurary 5th 2009 you will be able to apply for jobs on line. Now several of the MGM properties around town have had lay offs and the laid off people are going to have first choice at the jobs and that is only right. However there should still be plenty of jobs left should you want to apply.

Zappos an online company that specializes in shoes at Zappos.com. It also has brick and mortar stores in Nevada and Kentucky.
Zappos has in corporate headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada. They employee about 700 people here. I have always admired Zappos and their work atmosphere. Their employee’s have pretty much had the freedom to be theirselves in the workplace. I am finding this all very sad.
Zappos is doing one thing that I am proud of though, they are paying each laid off employee till the end of the year. An additional amount will be given to employees that have three years or more. Also six months of health benifits.
